I adore Nicki’s “Pink Friday”, so I was fairly certain Nicki’s latest perfume would be a hit too.  Oh and what a hit it is!  MINAJESTY, whilst adding some exciting new fragrant notes, still has that gorgeous creamy vanilla base that made me fall in love with Pink Friday.  The sultry floral gourmand scent reigns with luscious fruits and luxurious fresh florals, and as I stated earlier, is draped in a creamy vanilla, alongside pure musks.  The fragrance opens with a magnetic fresh spark of juicy peach, red currant and lemon blossom – a sultry, subtle sweetness.  A rich sophistication of magnolia and pink frangipani intermingles with a daring splash of tiger orchid in the heart.  Ending with tonka and fluffy vanilla (yum!) wrapped in an intoxicating white musk – a timeless depth finishes the fragrance.

Lets talk packaging… Much like her loud, bright and bold personality, the bottle engages consumers with its outrageous presence and vivacious allure.  Crowning her golden face with the most unexpected, glamorously wavy pink wig, the striking bottle is styled with a red-hot bustier, adorned by gems with black and gold detailing.  Fully clad in luxury, the secondary packaging design is a salute to the bottle.  Diamonds opulently surround a polished and vibrant carton that is framed in black, glimmering with lavish gold detail and a signature shot of Nicki.

I don’t know what it is about The Hunger Games – but it’s one of the few ‘book to movie’ series that I’m really quite enamoured with.  Maybe it’s the fabulous costumes, maybe it’s the exquisite makeup, or perhaps it’s just an incredibly well scripted and cast movie!

Sorry, I digress, back to the movie!  The first Hunger Games movie was brilliant and admittedly I too am excited for the next installment due to hit cinemas November 2013.

For those of you as deeply emerged [see: infatuated] in the fashion & beauty world as I am, will already be well aware of beauty brand ARTDECO, a cosmetics brand synonymous with European fashion powerhouses and celebrities alike.  The perfect symbiosis between cosmetics, art and fashion is an exciting theme explored within the ARTDECO brand, with the inaugural collection for the New Zealand launch being a collaboration with fashion house Talbot Runhof, which has dressed celebrities as diverse as Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey.  In this collection, Western feeling meets Asian spirit with exhilarating colours ranging from soft beige to rich aubergine and teal, in addition to the matching limited Art Design Beauty Box and tri-coloured blusher with embossed design.

These shots seem to focus on characters from the story Cinderella, including the evil step sisters, the wicked step mother, and Cinderella’s prince charming. The stylish step sisters are seen donning sparkling red eye patches, with long dark feathers incorporated into their perfectly coiffed hairstyles. The model portraying Cinderella wears a golden dress and natural makeup tones. Unlike the sinister step sisters, she looks virtuous and pure.

Given I was seduced many years ago by Viva La Juicy, when I heard that Noir was being launched I beyond excited to try it!  I love a sweet sophisticated scent, and Viva La Juicy Noir does not disappoint! It encompasses everything that I love in a perfume and more!  Noir  highlights the succulent ripe berry notes and gourmand accents, while adding a delicate touch of honeysuckle, sandalwood and gardenia petals.  For me, Noir has captured the iconic scent of Viva La Juicy whilst adding an irresistible, sultry and daring edge.  The delicious notes of amber, caramel and creamy vanilla anchor the berry notes, creating an addictive finish to the scent, and one that is utterly captivating.

Now lets talk packaging, because Noir’s bottle is breathtaking!  So beautiful and decadent, it looks like it could have come straight off the set of the Great Gatsby. A striking pink metallic bottle sets Viva La Juicy Noir apart from the rest and oozes style.  The bottle utilises a metallisation technique to create a liquid pink metal effect.  A faceted glass cap tops the vintage-inspired decanter bottle, etched with an iconic Juicy Couture crest.  A black satin bow finishes the bottle, emulating what is best described as ‘nighttime couture’.

How it Works

Each sheet mask is soaked in a special blend of ingredients.  Depending on your sheet mask of choice, this could include anything from aloe vera to flower and fruit extracts through to hydrating and brightening ingredients; all of which quickly repair and soothe skin. The serum in the sheet mask is intensely hydrating, so you’ll have smooth, soft skin in minutes. When you apply the sheet mask to your face, the actives are able to penetrate below the surface of your skin and do their work.

How to Use

  • You want to apply your sheet mask to a clean face (I personally like to cleanse and tone prior to using). So before you get started, make sure you cleanse first.
  • Open the package and unfold the mask. For a sheet so light and soft they’re incredibly sturdy, so don’t worry that in unfolding the sheet mask it may rip or tear as I’ve yet to ruin a mask simply by taking it out of the packaging.
  • Fit the mask over the contours of your face and lie down. Because sheet masks are jam-packed with serum, you don’t want to risk any fall-out of the skin-saving ingredients, plus it’s super-relaxing lying down whilst the ingredients work their magic.
  • Leave the sheet mask on for 10-20 minutes. I personally leave my sheet mask on for 15 minutes and this amount of time works well for me.
  • Remove the mask and gently rub the remaining serum into your skin to ensure all the product is absorbed.

We hope this appeals to all dog-lovers no matter what their favourite breed is,” says Claire Hammon, co-director of Meadowlark.

Tamara Mellon is currently the talk of the town with her recently published book entitled IN MY SHOES (all this talks gotta be good for book sales right!?)

Ms Mellon shares her larger than life story in her memoirs – In My Shoes, and has told how her business partner, Jimmy Choo did not design a single shoe for the multi-million dollar empire named after him.

Ms Mellon, who worked at British Vogue for five years after dropping out of school, said: ‘The original idea was for Jimmy to design the collection and I would run the operations of the business”. The 46-year-old also revealed she never received a single sketch from him during the years they worked together – not one!  She went on to say “it soon became very clear that Jimmy’s skill was in making shoes. He’s a cobbler.”

Being the shoe-a-holic that I am, although saddened to hear that Jimmy Choo didn’t design a single shoe, I am very much looking forward to reading Tamara’s book – In My Shoes, as the 46-year-old as led a very colourful and interesting life herself, Jimmy Choo shoes aside!

Fair to say that I am looking at my (one and only) pair of Jimmy Choo’s in a whole new light!

I’m beyond excited about these two candles. They encompass EVERYTHING I adore about Christmas.  Just opening the boxes these candles are housed in was enough to bring back all my childhood Christmas memories, simply from the beautiful aroma these candles emit.  As for lighting them to get the full ‘aroma hit’ well, in all truthfulness, I gave in to lighting the Caramalised Plum Pudding – which is magnificent, I do have to admit that I’ve not yet lit the Fresh Pine Needles candle as I intend to have this candle going every second that I’m in the house during December!  This candle IS Christmas! I’ve opened the box at least a hundreds times just to take in the fresh pine needle scent, but I don’t want to lose a second of burn time before December!  I’ve never come across a candle that smells EXACTLY like Christmas Trees.  If there is just one candle that you buy this Christmas, and if you’re as excited about Christmas as I am – you need this candle!!
