Last week we headed along to Celine Chapman’s boutique to view the ‘Celine Rita Winter 2013 Collection – Comme Ci, Comme Ca’, a beautiful Parisian inspired collection.
We had a chance to catch up with the amazing New Zealand Designer to find out what inspired her to create Comme Ci, Comme Ca.
“To say I was inspired by the cultures and people of the cities I visited would be an understatement. The whole experience was like a dream and I was particularly captivated during my time in Florence and Paris.
It was the everyday objects I saw in Europe that really inspired the winter range – from the beautifully crafted doors, street lamps and windows. I drew inspiration from everywhere.”
Celine was drawn to two specific muses for this range, a girl after my own heart, she drew inspiration from Audrey Tautou and Clemence Posey.
Whilst visiting Celine’s boutique I fell in love with her perfectly tailored Parisian Coat (and her super cute puppy, Flo) along with so many of her beautifully crafted pieces. To visit Celine’s boutique – head to 136B Newton Road, Auckland (entry to her boutique is on St Benedict’s Street) – just don’t touch that coat!!!
