Meet Peter Alexander! Peter Is In NZ To Launch His Latest Charity Endeavour Supporting Paw Justice

Peter Alexander launches his latest charity endeavour in support of Paw Justice…

Launching nationally across New Zealand this week, sleepwear king Peter Alexander unveils his latest charity endeavour, a collaboration with well-known children’s author Adam Hargreaves of the Mr Men book titles resulting in a new book, Little Miss Hug and Penny the Dog.

All the money from the sale of Little Miss Hug will be going to highly regarded animal charity Paw Justice. Plus, Peter Alexander is dedicating the national profits from an entire day of sales to the animal charity – this will take place on 30 September 2014.

Peter Alexander’s latest partnership came about after identifying two issues very close to his heart – the acceptance of people’s difference and animal charity, Paw Justice.

Peter recently tracked down the son of the original Mr Men author, Adam Hargreaves, and asked him to create a Mr Men book to fundraise for Paw Justice. Whilst raising money for a great cause, the book was also about highlighting the importance of accepting difference at a grass-roots level.

Peter Alexander discusses this collaboration, “Penny was my dog and now ambassador to my brand and she was different, she had very short legs.” He adds, “The book tells the story of how she learns to embrace her differences in the world of Mr Men.”

“Little Miss Hug delivers the message that it is important to feel comfortable in your own skin, whether you’re a Mr Tall, Mr Small, Little Miss Bossy or a Mr Greedy- we’re all special in our own unique ways,” says Adam Hargreaves.

“It’s nice to see Little Miss Hug on adventures with Penny – they make a fantastic twosome!” Mr Hargreaves said.

“We are honoured to be supported by Peter Alexander, and are behind his message 100%. Animals are no different to people – we need to treat them all the same and not differentiate between them based on our perceptions of breed traits, looks or temperament. They all deserve our love, attention and care. We hope this book helps our young people to be more empathetic towards each other, and our furry friends.” Craig Dunn, Paw Justice.

Peter Alexander is hoping the sales of the book take the total of money raised for animal charities across New Zealand and Australia to an impressive half a million dollars.

The Miscellaneous Musings Of A Girl Interrupted By Fashion, Beauty & Anything Pretty That Catches My Eye. I am passionately in love with the colour green!! I've always loved green, even as a child. My mother said this would wane as I got older. it did not!! I love nothing more than having the mundane interrupted by all things beautiful and fashionable. Passing time in tiny cafes with a pot of tea and a pile of magazines. Sitting under a tree with my favourite book or ‘old-school’ journal jotting down blogging ideas. Taking photographs of beautiful things, sitting front row at Fashion Week. Giant bunches of fragrant flowers, burning Ecoya candles, vintage jewellery. Trawling antique shops and markets for antique books, writing slopes and jewellery boxes. Hibernating indoors by the fire during winter, laying on freshly mowed grass eating pastries and sipping on raspberry lemonade during summer. The red sole of louboutins, exciting parcels arriving at the door with forgotten online purchases or product samples. Unwrapping the tissue of ‘just bought’ items of clothing from my favourite stores, Marc Jacobs, Karen Walker, Storm, Decjuba, Glassons, Loumina, Country Road, Bobbi Brown, MAC, oh the list goes on… Please do write to me at any time with comments, invites, press notes, media releases, things you’d like me to try and your own favourite finds.
