I consider myself extremely lucky to have come across this absolutely amazing skincare range – Plantae Certified Organic Skincare.  It’s one of the few ‘certified’ Organic Skincare ranges made and manufactured in New Zealand – Nelson to be exact.

Founded by international organic skincare expert Carol Priest, together with her daughters, Janelle, Fiona and Jacinta Priest, Plantae features three unique ranges – Purify, Balance and Hydrate, so they’ve got every skin type covered.  The products that I’ve been using for the last few weeks are from the Hydrate range (just what my skin needs during winter!) which includes:

  • Hydrate Rose Essential Water with Blackcurrant Leaf and Pine Bark Extract
This product is very cool!  It comes in the form of a spritzer and smells like heaven-in-a-bottle.  It’s basically a toner with a synergistic anti-aging complex of Auvergne Pine Bark and Blackcurrant Leaf – both powerful anti-oxidants.  The blend includes pure organic Bulgarian Rose Otto oil and pre steam-distilled Rose Water.  Its soothing and regenerative effects are nothing short of amazing.
  • Hydrate Pacific Blue Lavender Rich Cream Cleanser with Blackcurrant Leaf and Pine Bark Extract
This little beauty is a rich cream cleanser that rejuvenates dry skin.  It has circulatory and anti-aging properties that promote smooth, healthy skin.  In a nutshell – it replenishes your skin whilst cleansing it and it smells good enough to eat!  I seriously need a ‘smell here’ plugin on my website 😉
  • Hydrate Pomegranate Superfruit Rich Day Cream with Blackcurrant Leaf and Pine Bark Extract
This rich creamy day cream has a unique blend of organic extracts to help regenerate dry and sensitive skin.  Enriched with skin-protecting anti-oxidants, superfruits and omega essential fatty acids (EFA’s) like Rosehip fruit and Blackcurrant Seeds.  Super-critical Pomegranate Seed extract improves skin elasticity and firmness, while anti-aging Auvergne Pine Bark and Blackcurrant Leaf extract regenerate skin.  Organic Bulgarian Rose Otto is added for its intoxicating fragrance and healing properties.   This is one fabulous day cream if you have normal to dry skin – it has already done wonders for mine!
  • Hydrate Rosehip Fruit Omega Rich Night Cream with Blackcurrant Leaf and Pine Bark Extract
OK – this one’s a new addition to the range, a brand new night-cream (just in time for the cool and dry winter nights) so I was pretty excited to see if it lived up to the rest of the Plantae Hydrate collection.  Well, I can happily report – this is beyond amazing!  it’s a rich nutritive night cream that contains an abundance of naturally occurring antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamins found in Rose Hips, Seabuckthorn Berries, Borage and Evening Primrose Seeds to promote skin regeneration and improve skin elasticity to assist with slowing down the ageing process.  It also contains Auvergne Pine Bark and Black Currant Leaf extracts, Organic Bulgarian Rose Otto and New Zealand Pacific Blue Lavender.  Seriously they have jam-packed this night cream with every single goodie you need to rejuvenate, rehydrate and replenish your skin – and all while you’re sleeping! It’s like a vitamin injection – sans the needle!

Now, for those of you that may be thinking “but I’m only 20-something, I don’t need anti-ageing creams” I CANNOT stress this enough – you are NEVER too young for anti-ageing creams!  It’s near impossible to turn back the hands of time, so if you are going to do something to slow down these signs and make sure your skin looks as good as possible, for long as possible – do something about it now!  My mother instilled the importance of skin-care in me from a very, very young age – moisturiser every day, a light night cream each evening, and when I was old enough to wear it – never did a drop of makeup stay on my face at bed-time; and I am grateful for my mums strict skin-care regiment every single day.  I’m often told I look 10 years younger than I actually am (to be honest – I still feel like a bit of a kid most of the time) and yeah, I’m pretty damn happy with my skin and how I look for my age, so I guess all of these goodies like Plantae Organic Skincare are more than worth investing in.

Oh and if you’re no longer in your 20’s, it’s never too late to start looking after your skin!

Plantae is available at selected pharmacies, health food stores and online www.plantae.co.nz

PS: If you’ve not yet tried the Carol Priest Almond & Lemonbalm Facial Scrub – you must!  It’s pretty damn amazing.

The Miscellaneous Musings Of A Girl Interrupted By Fashion, Beauty & Anything Pretty That Catches My Eye. I am passionately in love with the colour green!! I've always loved green, even as a child. My mother said this would wane as I got older. it did not!! I love nothing more than having the mundane interrupted by all things beautiful and fashionable. Passing time in tiny cafes with a pot of tea and a pile of magazines. Sitting under a tree with my favourite book or ‘old-school’ journal jotting down blogging ideas. Taking photographs of beautiful things, sitting front row at Fashion Week. Giant bunches of fragrant flowers, burning Ecoya candles, vintage jewellery. Trawling antique shops and markets for antique books, writing slopes and jewellery boxes. Hibernating indoors by the fire during winter, laying on freshly mowed grass eating pastries and sipping on raspberry lemonade during summer. The red sole of louboutins, exciting parcels arriving at the door with forgotten online purchases or product samples. Unwrapping the tissue of ‘just bought’ items of clothing from my favourite stores, Marc Jacobs, Karen Walker, Storm, Decjuba, Glassons, Loumina, Country Road, Bobbi Brown, MAC, oh the list goes on… Please do write to me at any time with comments, invites, press notes, media releases, things you’d like me to try and your own favourite finds.
