Seed & French Connection Touch Down In New Zealand...

It’s always exciting to see globally recognised fashion labels set up shop in New Zealand; and today marks the arrival of both French Connection and Seed.

Unveiling the Autumn/Winter 2015 collections, media got an advanced preview of the beautiful new ranges New Zealand can expect to see when both brands open their doors in late March.

SEED
The scene is set for Autumn Winter 2015 – a tightly curated, effortlessly modern collection designed to build the cornerstone of a cutting edge new season wardrobe.

This winter heralds a return to sculptural line and structure. The female form is the star attraction, complemented by strong silhouettes and body conscious cuts. Think powerful shoulders, belted waists and form-fitting dresses. Texture is also key – Mongolian faux fur is luxurious whilst fringing adds a bohemian edge. Leather emerges as a season hero, whilst marled yarns soften its impact. The neutrals to wear now materialise as stone and caramel, graduating to cooler shades of charcoal, the grey of the moment! Khaki punctuates black in a rebooted take on military chic, whilst midnight and navy are romantic for winter.

Look out for the new Seed store opening late March, in Nuffield St, Newmarket and Ponsonby.

FRENCH CONNECTION
An understated tone embodies the French Connection Autumn Winter 2015 collection with a fresh take on relaxed luxury. Unique pieces exuding modernity and classic styles stand up against a neutral palette of black, white and cooler shades of grey. Khaki accentuates black in an updated take on military chic, while animal print is punctuated in opulent tones.

For Autumn’s crisp temperatures an arsenal of pullovers, cardigans and turtlenecks is in order. Zip detailing, stitch design and oversized silhouettes update traditional knitwear.

Capes emerge as the season’s key piece in an array of contemporary designs. Blanket wraps are an off-duty transeasonal favourite when paired with boyfriend jeans and minimalist tops. Jackets and vests are complemented by strong silhouettes with timeless appeal. Think luxurious textures, tailored fits, beautifully belted waists and simple detailing.

Look out for the new French Connection store opening late March in Nuffield St, Newmarket.

The Miscellaneous Musings Of A Girl Interrupted By Fashion, Beauty & Anything Pretty That Catches My Eye. I am passionately in love with the colour green!! I've always loved green, even as a child. My mother said this would wane as I got older. it did not!! I love nothing more than having the mundane interrupted by all things beautiful and fashionable. Passing time in tiny cafes with a pot of tea and a pile of magazines. Sitting under a tree with my favourite book or ‘old-school’ journal jotting down blogging ideas. Taking photographs of beautiful things, sitting front row at Fashion Week. Giant bunches of fragrant flowers, burning Ecoya candles, vintage jewellery. Trawling antique shops and markets for antique books, writing slopes and jewellery boxes. Hibernating indoors by the fire during winter, laying on freshly mowed grass eating pastries and sipping on raspberry lemonade during summer. The red sole of louboutins, exciting parcels arriving at the door with forgotten online purchases or product samples. Unwrapping the tissue of ‘just bought’ items of clothing from my favourite stores, Marc Jacobs, Karen Walker, Storm, Decjuba, Glassons, Loumina, Country Road, Bobbi Brown, MAC, oh the list goes on… Please do write to me at any time with comments, invites, press notes, media releases, things you’d like me to try and your own favourite finds.
