Online shopping has become somewhat of a sport for me as of late.  Yes sport!  I use the term sport because I’m constantly in training, striving to better my list of websites to purchase from and always have my eye on the prize (the arrival date of said purchase).

A couple of weeks ago, whilst searching for an online shop to purchase ‘sheet masks’ from, I stumbled across a new website called Curious Peach.  You can read all about my ‘sheet masks’ post here. Now, it’s while I was in the Curious Peach website that I discovered my latest beauty find – PERIPERA. The peripera lip stains that caught my eye were so damn adorable, I had to have them! (ok I may have also ‘had to have’ some NARS products too, but that’s going slightly off topic). I mean seriously, look at this packaging!  How could I resist?! Short answer, I didn’t!

Read About My Latest Beauty Discovery (and a discount code for you!)

The peripera lip stain, which is what I ended up getting, is brilliant!  It’s totally versatile – you can apply just one sheer coat for a subtle lip look, create a ombre lip, or you can apply several coats to build the colour until you achieve your desired hue.  If you’re anything like me and love a bright bold lipstick, this is the answer to locking in your lip colour – no more fading!  I applied my peripera lip stain prior to putting on my bright lippie, and boom, a lip base that doesn’t fade and makes your lipstick colour pop!

Tip: apply lip liner in a similar shade to stop the lip stain from bleeding past your lip line).

This website seriously has it all – Benefit, Dior, NARS, you name it, they have it.  So after falling in love with my newly found website, I contacted them, and to cut a long story short, I ended up creating a ‘guest post’ editorial for ‘sheet masks’ and then, cheekily asked them for an exclusive discount code, solely for my readers, so that YOU can get your hands on these gorgeous lil peripera products at a fraction of the normal price.  They are already incredibly affordable.  My peripera lip stains cost $12 each, which is a bargain in the beauty world (and they look soooo cute all lined up on my vanity table).  As of right now, Curious Peach stocks the peripera lip stain, BB cream and BB Powder, but they are about to add many more products to the range, so watch this space…

Keen to get your hands on peripera?  If so, feel free to use this 10% off discount code: PERIGURL10   Simply enter the code at checkout and you’ll receive 10% off your purchase.  The code has no expiry date so you can use it any time, and as many times as you like.  Head over to www.curiouspeach.co.nz and check out the adorable peripera range.

Happy shopping!

Nicki Minaj Launches New Perfume – MINAJESTY…

Nicki Minaj, Elizabeth Arden, MINAJESTY, Nicki Minaj Minajesty, Perfume, perfume launch nz, Tina White, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, fashion, beauty,

Multi-platinum recording artist and fashion, style and beauty trendsetter Nicki Minaj has launched her second perfume – MINAJESTY…

Nicki’s debut fragrance, Pink Friday, ranked as one of the top celebrity launches of 2012, creating a sensational buzz as her doll-like bottle captured attention across the world.  Adding new dimension to her innovative fragrance collection, the new brand speaks directly to the sultry and confident side of Nicki’s ever-changing and dynamic personality.

Nicki says “MINAJESTY is my newest scent – it is sultry, captivating and powerful.  There is a sexy power behind having self-confidence.  I want this fragrance to invite my Barbz to celebrate their glamorous side, live in the moment, and be outrageous knowing that true power comes from within”.

I adore Nicki’s “Pink Friday”, so I was fairly certain Nicki’s latest perfume would be a hit too.  Oh and what a hit it is!  MINAJESTY, whilst adding some exciting new fragrant notes, still has that gorgeous creamy vanilla base that made me fall in love with Pink Friday.  The sultry floral gourmand scent reigns with luscious fruits and luxurious fresh florals, and as I stated earlier, is draped in a creamy vanilla, alongside pure musks.  The fragrance opens with a magnetic fresh spark of juicy peach, red currant and lemon blossom – a sultry, subtle sweetness.  A rich sophistication of magnolia and pink frangipani intermingles with a daring splash of tiger orchid in the heart.  Ending with tonka and fluffy vanilla (yum!) wrapped in an intoxicating white musk – a timeless depth finishes the fragrance.

Lets talk packaging… Much like her loud, bright and bold personality, the bottle engages consumers with its outrageous presence and vivacious allure.  Crowning her golden face with the most unexpected, glamorously wavy pink wig, the striking bottle is styled with a red-hot bustier, adorned by gems with black and gold detailing.  Fully clad in luxury, the secondary packaging design is a salute to the bottle.  Diamonds opulently surround a polished and vibrant carton that is framed in black, glimmering with lavish gold detail and a signature shot of Nicki.

Simply stunning, MINAJESTY is captivating, sophisticated and yet another must-have for summer! There really is quite the line up of fabulous celebrity perfumes, perfectly timed to launch just before the festive season – no doubt MINAJESTY will make many a Christmas wish list (alongside the other big hitters such as Taylor Swift’s Taylor and Bieber’s The Key).

International Beauty Brand ARTDECO Arrives In New Zealand…

Held in Auckland’s  hotspot – Ponsonby Central, beauty media attended the New Zealand launch of International cosmetics brand – ARTDECO…

For those of you as deeply emerged [see: infatuated] in the fashion & beauty world as I am, will already be well aware of beauty brand ARTDECO, a cosmetics brand synonymous with European fashion powerhouses and celebrities alike.  The perfect symbiosis between cosmetics, art and fashion is an exciting theme explored within the ARTDECO brand, with the inaugural collection for the New Zealand launch being a collaboration with fashion house Talbot Runhof, which has dressed celebrities as diverse as Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey.  In this collection, Western feeling meets Asian spirit with exhilarating colours ranging from soft beige to rich aubergine and teal, in addition to the matching limited Art Design Beauty Box and tri-coloured blusher with embossed design.

ARTDECO is the undefeated leader in Germany’s selective market since 2005, outshining all other international luxury brands in its home country.  The standout, and major point of difference, which I think is safe to say is probably the key to their success, is ARTDECO’s continuous focus on individuality!  We don’t all have the same needs or wants when it comes to makeup; and ARTDECO recognises this through their offering of individualised colour collections, collections where YOU choose and create your ideal colour palette of cosmetics with the “Systeme Mosaique”.  The Systeme Mosaique lies at the heart of the ARTDECO collection, a range of refillable magnetised boxes and products that allow customers to build their own customised palette.  The range boasts 62 eyeshadows, 12 blushers, 9 camouflage creams and 3 eyebrow powders, allowing us to build our own personal ‘beauty box’.

Come on, hands up who’s bought a palette and only used 1 or 2 of the colours, but had to buy the whole palette simply to get the few colours that suit you, the rest remaining redundant.  It’s my pet hate when it comes to colour palettes and it’s damned costly when you aren’t even getting to use the whole palette.  ARTDECO’s makeup is not only totally affordable, it’s customisable, so you’re saving even MORE money, buy solely purchasing the colours and products that you know you will use!  I have to say media were incredibly spoilt, in that we got to customise our very own palettes at the ARTDECO launch, and I created what I expect will be ‘my ideal colour combo of eyeshadows and blushes’ by choosing all my favourite earthy, shimmery nudes and neutral hues.

ARTDECO also has a basics collection, a complete range of fashionable makeup products – from high-performance foundations and bases, to a diverse selection of lipsticks, lip pencils and glosses, a multitude of mascaras and eyeliners, as well as a colourful choice of 36 ceramic nail lacquers.  So there is definitely something for everyone!!

Beautiful Editorials: A True Cinderella

The ‘True Cinderella’ editorial for Glassbook Magazine features striking fairy tale costumes inspired by the Victorian era. This breathtaking series updates fairy tale fashion by incorporating shortened gowns and sparkling accessories.

These shots seem to focus on characters from the story Cinderella, including the evil step sisters, the wicked step mother, and Cinderella’s prince charming. The stylish step sisters are seen donning sparkling red eye patches, with long dark feathers incorporated into their perfectly coiffed hairstyles. The model portraying Cinderella wears a golden dress and natural makeup tones. Unlike the sinister step sisters, she looks virtuous and pure.

Not only is this a ‘beautiful editorial’ – these modernised Victorian era looks may inspire some seriously chic fairy tale costumes this Halloween.

Juicy Couture Goes Nocturnal With Noir – Introducing Juicy Couture’s Latest Perfume….

The Night is for Noir…

Iconic lifestyle brand Juicy Couture introduces Viva La Juicy Noir, a rich interpretation of the signature scent – Viva La Juicy.  Launching on 4 November 2013 at Farmers and selected pharmacies and department stores, Viva La Juicy Noir is a limited edition offering that explores the seductive side of the original Viva La Juicy fragrance.

Elizabeth Arden, Viva La Juicy Noir, Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy, Perfume, perfume launch nz, Tina White, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, fashion, beauty,

Coined as Viva La Juicy’s seductive sister, the scent pays homage to the limitless possibilities that nighttime can bring. Viva La Juicy Noir is the embodiment of the fun-loving Viva muse, who is always the life of the party.  Unapologetic, she takes risks and gets rewarded.  Bold, sensual and arresting, Viva La Juicy Noir is a captivating fragrance that embodies the Juicy Couture DNA: Discover the couture in the everyday.

Given I was seduced many years ago by Viva La Juicy, when I heard that Noir was being launched I beyond excited to try it!  I love a sweet sophisticated scent, and Viva La Juicy Noir does not disappoint! It encompasses everything that I love in a perfume and more!  Noir  highlights the succulent ripe berry notes and gourmand accents, while adding a delicate touch of honeysuckle, sandalwood and gardenia petals.  For me, Noir has captured the iconic scent of Viva La Juicy whilst adding an irresistible, sultry and daring edge.  The delicious notes of amber, caramel and creamy vanilla anchor the berry notes, creating an addictive finish to the scent, and one that is utterly captivating.

Now lets talk packaging, because Noir’s bottle is breathtaking!  So beautiful and decadent, it looks like it could have come straight off the set of the Great Gatsby. A striking pink metallic bottle sets Viva La Juicy Noir apart from the rest and oozes style.  The bottle utilises a metallisation technique to create a liquid pink metal effect.  A faceted glass cap tops the vintage-inspired decanter bottle, etched with an iconic Juicy Couture crest.  A black satin bow finishes the bottle, emulating what is best described as ‘nighttime couture’.

I’m absolutely infatuated!  Those that adore Viva La Juicy are going to fall in love with Viva La Juicy Noir!  Definitely one to add to your Christmas wish list!

Are “Sheet Masks” The Next Big Thing In The World Of Beauty?

Having recently discovered Sheet Masks, I’ve fast become a big fan of these instant facials in the form of a contoured sheet.

Regardless of brand, they’re an affordable luxury that only takes 15-20 minutes out of your day, leaving your face looking and feeling hydrated, radiant and smooth. In a nutshell, they’re an all-in-one skin hydrator and brightener.

I’ve now used several brands of sheet masks (I got mine from Curious Peach – here’s a jump to take you to their sheet masks range: Curious Peach), each created with specific skin concerns in mind, and I’ve not once been disappointed. They’re perfect for dry and/or sensitive skin and the outcome is rejuvenated, glowing and radiant skin.

Curious Peach, curiouspeach.co.nz, beauty online nz, sheet masks, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, fashion, beauty,

How it Works

Each sheet mask is soaked in a special blend of ingredients.  Depending on your sheet mask of choice, this could include anything from aloe vera to flower and fruit extracts through to hydrating and brightening ingredients; all of which quickly repair and soothe skin. The serum in the sheet mask is intensely hydrating, so you’ll have smooth, soft skin in minutes. When you apply the sheet mask to your face, the actives are able to penetrate below the surface of your skin and do their work.

Curious Peach, curiouspeach.co.nz, beauty online nz, sheet masks, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, fashion, beauty,

How to Use

  • You want to apply your sheet mask to a clean face (I personally like to cleanse and tone prior to using). So before you get started, make sure you cleanse first.
  • Open the package and unfold the mask. For a sheet so light and soft they’re incredibly sturdy, so don’t worry that in unfolding the sheet mask it may rip or tear as I’ve yet to ruin a mask simply by taking it out of the packaging.
  • Fit the mask over the contours of your face and lie down. Because sheet masks are jam-packed with serum, you don’t want to risk any fall-out of the skin-saving ingredients, plus it’s super-relaxing lying down whilst the ingredients work their magic.
  • Leave the sheet mask on for 10-20 minutes. I personally leave my sheet mask on for 15 minutes and this amount of time works well for me.
  • Remove the mask and gently rub the remaining serum into your skin to ensure all the product is absorbed.

It’s that easy!  An affordable, effective and indulgent facial, all in one easy-to-use mask.

TANAHOLICS – This One’s For You…

Brownallyear, brownallyear.com, tanners, fake tan, organic tanning, BarePR, beauty, skincare, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, shoes, makeup, cosmetics, fashion

To tan or not to tan – that is the question.  Knowing how unsafe it is to tan [see: bake] in the sun – what to do when wanting to achieve the perfect tan?  Well, unless you’ve been blessed with a natural tan, the only safe way is straight out of a bottle, and this is where Brownallyear comes in!  Brownallyear is a fabulous organic tanning product that’s designed to give you the perfect brown tan and have you looking like a ‘beach-bronzed-babe’ in no time.

Brownallyear, brownallyear.com, tanners, fake tan, organic tanning, BarePR, beauty, skincare, beauty blog nz, fashion blog nz, style blog nz, beauty media nz, fashion media nz, angie fredatovich, gurlinterrupted, shoes, makeup, cosmetics, fashion

Brownallyear is the brainchild of self-confessed tanning addict Haliee Wheeler.  Hailee was inspired to create a chemical-free and sunless tanning solution so she could safely tan herself as often as she liked. Ten years on, Hailee has spray-tanned more than 13,000 people with Brownallyear’s specialist line of products, which thankfully is now available in a DIY at-home retail range.

Now I myself am of the naturally tanned persuasion, so to ensure I could give you a ‘tried and true’ review I had a friend (thanks Janey) give this ‘organic answer to all your tanning woes’ a whirl to see if it’s all it claims to be. We trialled the following products – Instant Tanning Spray, Chocolate Tanning Cream & the Velvet Blending Glove, and here’s our findings…

First up – the The Instant Tanning Spray.  The spray bottle produces a fine mist of product that works with your own skin tone to deliver a gorgeous chocolaty tan [note: chocolate tan, not orange!]  I have to say this in itself was a delight to behold, as seriously – I find I’m repeatedly asking myself “who is it these self-tanners have seen that have inspired them to create an all over orange-skinned hue?”  No naturally tanned person is orange people!  This is what, right off the bat, impressed me about the Brownallyear tanning spray – it actually creates a brown tan. The unique formulation combines Caramel from non GMO Cane Sugar, which develops (over four hours) a safe long-lasting gorgeous tan while the inclusion of skin-conditioning aloe vera leaves your skin hydrated and silky smooth.  But most importantly – it delivers a beautiful BROWN tan! The tan then lasts for up to 10 days.

Janey used the Velvet Blending Glove to ensure a smooth, even and streak-free application!  She simply sprayed the product directly onto the glove and from there, applied it to the skin.  The Velvet Blending Glove is definitely key to the process – a must-have to ensure you receive a flawless result!

The other product I had Janey trial was the Chocolate Tanning Cream.  This rich chocolaty tanning cream glides on a like a silky smooth moisturiser for an instant golden all-over tan. Again it works in with your own skin tone – from the palest of skins to naturally olive tones, this little gem in a bottle will work for everyone.  Using just one pump of the Chocolate Tanning Cream and a pair of rubber gloves, Janey applied her first application and then applied another (after waiting 4 hours to see how the colour developed) to reach her desired colour.  You can continue to build your colour to create your desired tan.

So I guess it all comes down to preference – a spray tan or a cream?  Janey’s preference was the spray (she changed her mind on this several times) although I’d say both must be equally great as she’s taking the spray AND the cream ‘off my hands’ (apparently payment for being a guinea pig – yeah tough gig Janey). So it’s safe to say I’ll be looking to check Janey into a Tanaholic Addiction Centre fairly soon!

Head on over and check out all that www.brownallyear.com has to offer!  Seriously good stuff and an absolute essential for the perfect, but more importantly safe, summer tan!

Katy Perry Launches ‘Killer Queen’…

Pop star Katy Perry launches her third fragrance Killer Queen (named after the song written by Freddie Mercury) and apparently it’s said to be nothing like it’s predecessors, and better than all others on the market (hard to believe a scent could rival Taylor Swifts latest perfume, however…)

Katy states: “Killer Queen has been in my vocabulary since I was 15, because of the song ‘Killer Queen’ by Queen. Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in. I named my company Killer Queen after those lyrics. I feel like, after all this time, it was appropriate to use that name in association with something I did. I feel like I’m falling, finally, into that woman Freddie painted.”

Killer Queen is said to be playful, sophisticated, powerful, edgy and delicious.  It reflects the rebellious spirit of the singer. Its creation is signed by Laurent Le Guernec of IFF. Top notes include wild berries, dark plum and bergamot accords. The main note of the heart is velvety red flower (Celosia), but there are also Sambac jasmine and rainbow plumeria. The base contains cashmere, patchouli and liquid praline.

The bottle is shaped like a red ruby and comes in its own golden pedestal.  Bring on the launch of Katy Perry’s Killer Queen!

I could hardly leave out the imagery from her Berlin launch. Looking very schoolgirl-esque, Katy Perry wears Alice + Olivia, paired with Christian Louboutins, at her Killer Queen perfume launch held in Berlin…

What I’m Loving Right Now…

Lately I’ve come across quite a few new fabulous gems, both fashion & beauty items of which I’m really enjoying, so I thought I would share with you – items I’m currently loving.

I love reading and hearing about other peoples finds (especially when they’re things that I may not have otherwise discovered) so I thought why not share a few of the things that I’ve discovered.  From summer bling for your feet, through to glamorous new lipsticks, pampering body lotions and more, this post features all of the items I’m loving right now….

Glamdals…
Ok so these aren’t entirely a ‘new’ find as such.  You may recall, if you’ve been following me for over a year, that I wrote about Glamdals quite some time ago (you can read my earlier post here: Glamour For Your Feet).  Since first launching, and after much research, many samples and a hugely successful summer 2012 launch, Glamdals has taken off and is now stocked around New Zealand with a growing number of retailers in Australia (they are even going to be featured on Home & Away this summer – if you read my “50 Random Facts About Me” post you will know Home & Away is my guilty viewing pleasure) and now even launching in Dubai! You go Sandra Castle (Glamdals founder), I love seeing fellow kiwis succeeding in bringing their dreams to life!  Back when I first came across Glamdals I was rocking the silver pair (Heartbreaker) and this summer I’m going to be flaunting my gold pair – California Dreaming.  Check out Glamdals’ online store here: www.glamdals.com  They’re also stocked nationwide through all Annah Stretton stores.

Smashbox – Fade To Black…
I loves me a smokey eye! It’s my ‘go to’ makeup look, and recently I’ve been using the Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner in ‘blackest black’. This fabulous liner is part of Smashbox’s latest collection – Fade to Black, and is a velvety smooth crayon liner of which glides on so effortlessly, you barely need to touch your skin to apply it, yet the colour payoff is quite simply perfection! The liner is double ended, so on one end you have the liner, and the other a sponge-tipped-smudger. Definitely a makeup essential if you love creating a smokey eye look.  This would also be a great base for a dark glittery eye shadow.  The Smashbox shadow liner also comes in a ‘black gold’, but I’ve yet to try the gold, so if you already have, I’d love to hear about it!

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body Wash and Replenishing Body Lotion…
Weleda recently released a range of body washes and lotions – Hydrating, Replenishing, Pampering and Regenerating.  I recently picked up the Replenishing Sea Buckthorn body wash and body lotion.  I chose the Sea Buckthorn because the oil extracted from the pulp and kernel of the sea buckthorn berries are particularly caring and regenerating for your skin.  They contain pro-vitamin A and vitamin E which protects the skin against environmental damage and the natural lipid layer of the skin is supported and protected.  They smell beautiful, fruity and fresh and the fragrance is complimented by natural essential oils from oranges, mandarins and grapefruits.  In a nutshell – delish!!  They smell good enough to eat and the subtle scent stays with you all day whilst leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated. As soon as I’ve made my way through these beauties – I’m going to have to try the Regenerating Pomegranate range.

Elizabeth Arden – Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks…
Lipstick addicted and proud!  Yip – love my lipsticks, especially beautiful bold colours, so I’m constantly on the lookout for rich vibrant shades; and when a lipstick looks this beautiful (embossed with the Red Door logo in luxurious gold and silver packaging) with the promise of being super-hydrating, how could they not catch my eye?!  I picked up these three colours the other week (‘just pick one’ is clearly lost on me when it comes to choosing out of colours this glam) and they’re all I thought they would be and more!  I chose the colours Red Door Red, Mandarin and Electric Pink – and they’re beyond swoon-worthy.  They apply like a dream, give 100% colour payoff, look and feel velvety smooth and are ultra-conditioning, whilst being really long-wear (I’m talking hours without needing to reapply). Admittedly I was already sold on the lipsticks, however I did look into the ingredients and I can see why they wear so well and feel silky smooth on application as they contain a pretty powerful blend of skincare ingredients such as emollient butters and vitamins A, C & E (all hydrating and conditioning).

Love a bright bold lip that doesn’t dry, feather or fade?  Then you’ll adore these new Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks by Elizabeth Arden!!  My colours as shown below are, L-R: Red Door Red, Mandarin and Electric Pink…

The Aromatherapy Company – Stress Pulse Point…
I have tried many of The Aromatherapy Company’s products and I love them, but why I haven’t come across this product until now is beyond me.  Given I’m prone to headaches and am a chronic insomniac, why did nobody tell me about the ‘Stress Pulse Point’?! The 100% pure and natural essential oil blend of Peppermint & Lavender in a base of Sweet Almond Oil is said to clear anxiety and calm the mind, relieve nausea and aid digestion, and the Lavender eases headaches and balance your body & mind.  I’ve been applying it at night to aid with sleep (or lack thereof) and during the day when I feel a headache coming on, and I’m actually finding it’s really helping to ease tension.  I don’t know if it’s the peppermint easing the headache (peppermint is supposedly a natural remedy for headaches) or whether it’s the lavender scent that’s relaxing me (I tend to get headaches when I’m stressed with work or have been at the computer way too long) but either way, it definitely seems to be taking effect!  It has a nifty wee roller-ball applicator, of which you just swipe onto your pulse points, and comes in a handy purse-friendly size. Well worth a try if you have trouble unwinding.
