WIN: A 100% New Zealand Made Possum/Wool Throw Valued At $362

In times when most locally run textile houses have closed their doors – one smart, mill in NZ is continuing to grow and delight overseas interest.

Inter-weave is a NZ firm that designs and manufactures luxurious wool textiles and throws. These products are sold throughout the world to high-end wholesalers and furniture manufacturers such a Knoll New York, Ralph Lauren and Rubelli of Italy.

“Our story is one of a kind as we are one of the last weavers left in NZ, and have a larger overseas presence than local, “ Managing Director, Tracy March says.

Inter-weave has won awards in the US as recently as June last year. In 2014 winning a silver at Neocon, Chicago; Inter-weave also won a highly sought-after contract through Maxell Rodgers several years ago to supply bed throws to the Venetian Hotel in Los Vegas.

“We are 100% NZ owned, use NZ wool, have yarn spun in NZ, then design, dye, weave and finish all our products on site in Auckland, something very rare these days indeed,” – Managing Director, Tracy March says.

“Like so many different New Zealand industries, our company defies the ‘bigger is better’ tag; instead we simply work smarter across every facet of our operation Our fabrics lend ambiance and atmosphere to any space. The geometric designs can add to modern architectural elements, and our textures have the ability to soften them and add a new organic dimension.”

This year, Inter-weave is branching into throws. These throws are a stunning blend of wool and possum – which unsurprisingly have been flying out the door, since going on sale in January. Also, as a foray into the Fashion world, ponchos were featured in last year’s NZ Fashion Week, collaborating with Hailwood & Stolen Girlfriends Club.
