If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram you will no doubt have seen a few snippets from the fabulous event I attended last night! I headed along to the Launch Party for Nespresso’s new machine – Umilk.
I attend A LOT of events, more often than not – several in one day and I often think to myself, my goodness it’s gotta be hard for these PR’s to come up with something unique each time, knowing that media are regularly attending events and they need to ensure THEIR launch is the one we remember. Well I have to say this launch event was an absolute STAND OUT. It would be one of the most seamless & creative launch events I’ve attended in quite some time. This Nespresso event was definitely different – they had such a great crowd there, some new faces, exciting things to see and do and you actually WANTED to know more about what it was they were launching, because it was so damned intriguing!
So what was it all about you ask! Well, the new ‘Umilk’ is the latest innovation from Nespresso which offers the ultimate convenience in creating your favourite coffee and milk recipes on one platform. In a nutshell – Nespresso now offers their loyal fans (yup I’m one of them) a machine that creates smooth, finely textured milk froth to enjoy with their chosen Nespresso drink of choice. GREAT – now I’m going to be coveting this Nespresso Umilk machine every time I look at my old Nespresso machine! #NespressoGirlProblems
Held at Flying Fish on Ponsonby Road, the theme and dress-code of the evening, to match the new Nespresso Umilk machine, was black and white. I like to think perhaps also a nod to the monochrome fashion trend? (that might just be that ‘fashion writer’ in me). Everyone arrived suitably dressed, a sea of guests looking all ‘before colour TV’. Upon arrival, the Nespresso team invited me to have a 3D mini sculpture created – a 2 minute process where I hopped onto a rotating 360 degree, 3D scanning process, of which the end result was a ‘mini mi’ 3D figurine! I mean seriously, how fabulous is that to have a replica figurine made as a memento of the evening?! (the mini me is featured below). They had delightful treats from Milse and obviously the BEST coffee was available all night, made to order from several manned NESPRESSO machines dotted throughout the venue. Followed by Nespresso cocktails served in gorgeous little milk bottles (of which we also received upon leaving, personalised with our names). I would say Nespresso will be VERY happy with their PR crew, as they really did pull off ‘the perfect event’. Check out some of our snaps from the event…
