This week beauty media got an early jump on Christmas (I know – scary to think about Christmas already huh?). Hosted by the lovely ladies of Lush, we were treated to a ‘cruelty free Christmas breakfast’ designed by Little Bird Unbakery (if you haven’t yet been to Little Bird you must!) with LUSH’s new products in mind. Many of the ingredients we were eating, were featured in the new Christmas collection – a beautiful sensory experience!
There are so many new delightful and magical Lush products arriving in store for Christmas that I wish I could talk you through each and every one, alas they want to keep these under wraps for now so that there’s an element of surprise for everyone when they arrive in-store to start their Christmas shopping (which is actually pretty cool) but I can share a few little insider secrets…. What I can tell you is they haven’t held back on their key ingredients, such as – their ethically correct values, imagination, beautifully scented oils and plenty of glitter and sparkle! Oh and a pretty darn special collaboration with Vivienne Westwood!
Retail Director – Peta Granger talked us though Lush’s key brand ethics. Those being, continuing to produce cruelty-free beauty products (and going a step further by ensuring that the companies they work with have a strict ‘no animal testing’ policy in place too). Lush also continue to focus on recycling (with reusable containers, recycled paper, and using fabric as gift-wrap). They also stay true to their ‘ethical buying’ policy by building and maintaining a sLUSH fund that donates to worldwide sustainable initiatives and of course donate to many life-changing ethical charities.
Megan Taylor of Lush then introduced Product Trainer – Amy Lynes, who presented to us, each and every fabulously fragrant Christmas product. From the wonderfully inventive ‘knot-wrap’ scarves they have in-store, which are perfect for Christmas gift-wrapping. You can choose from a vast selection of scarves. There’s the recycled collection (where no two prints are alike), the scarves created and designed by Lush, or the limited edition Vivienne Westwood collaboration scarves (I will DEFINITELY be getting a VW one!). Amy also assured us (mainly me, who went into panic mode when I thought maybe some of my Christmas faves weren’t making an appearance) the wonderful bubble bars and bath bombes (such as the crackling feel-good Cinder bombe) would be available over Christmas, along with new body lotions, bubble bars, sparkly bath bombes, edible lip scrubs and more. It’s all preservative-free, plastic-free and just plain good for your skin! Lush is a one-stop-shop for feel-good Christmas gifting!
Here’s a few snaps (and a sneak peek of the upcoming Christmas treats) from our lovely ‘Cruelty-Free Christmas Breakfast’ with Lush… (continue reading further down, to see what happened at the Lush Blogger’s event)

So, later the same day, I attended Lush’s first ever NZ Bloggers Event, held in the Lush Queen St Store. What a fabulous day! I got to peruse all of the amazing Christmas Gifts that will be in store for the festive season and then in the evening I got to hear about some of Lush’s biggest sellers, their loyal followers’ (that’s me) faves, as well as being invited to help whip up our very own batch of ‘cupcake’ face masques. These are some seriously cool ladies – these gals of Lush. They are all so amazing and fun they actually made me want to work there just to hang out with them! The stories they tell of how Lush products are made, their dedication to creating a ‘cruelty-free’ range of beauty products, and their bubbly personalities reminiscent of the sparkliest of all the Lush bath bombes ever made, created a fabulous evening of education and fun!
We got our ‘Emotional Brilliance’ colours read for us. I actually dedicated a whole post to this, earlier in the year. Click the jump to see more about the Emotional Brilliance range here: LUSH MAKEUP RANGE. We had face masques and arm massages, and best of all we got to hang out with the effervescent Amber (the manager of the Queen St store) and make our very own batch of ‘cupcake’ face masque. Check out some of my snaps from the evening…
